What is the Mechronomicon?
The Mechronomicon is a database for Harley Davidson parts history. Like Wikipedia but only for Harley parts. It is our goal to preserve history and to expose some of the unsolved mysteries, quirks, and scandals of the American V-Twin parts industry. We attempt to detail each version of each Harley part number that has ever existed and try to uncover what exactly they changed over the years and why. We attempt to de-mystify what parts fit what, what to look out for, etc. We also like to detail any aftermarket equivalent parts, and we will rate them based on our experiences in the real world. You won’t see any ads here ever. We don’t do paid sponsor deals and we aren’t interested in whatever flashy opportunities you may have for us. No marketing, no sponsors, no bullshit. We are a small team of fanatics with over 40 years of experience in the Harley Davidson aftermarket industry and we are brutally honest. It is what it is.
It’s an uphill battle that never ends, and obviously a work in progress.
